New York-based Coty Inc., one of the world's largest beauty products companies, has hired former Keurig Dr. Pepper Inc. in-house leader Kristin Blazewicz as chief legal officer, general counsel and secretary of the board of directors.

Blazewicz, who also has a seat on Coty's executive committee, starts her new job on March 15 and will be based in Amsterdam. She succeeds Greer McMullen, "who has decided to leave the company," according to an announcement on Monday. 

Blazewicz will report to Coty CEO Pierre Laubies, who said in a statement that his new top lawyer's "deep expertise in Legal affairs and track record of success will be a great addition to the Coty Executive Committee, and we are looking forward to having her on board soon." 

As chief legal officer, Blazewicz will oversee Coty's global legal matters with "a strong focus on supporting our transformation towards a better and healthier business from a legal perspective," the company stated in a news release. 

Coty announced in July that it was implementing a turnaround plan focused on growth and "regaining operational leadership" by creating regional commercial teams in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa. The company stated at the time that McMullen would remain in his CLO role.

The company also made recent headlines when it announced in November it was entering into a strategic partnership with celebrity beauty maven Kylie Jenner to continue building her global Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin brands. The partnership was finalized earlier this month.

Attempts to speak with Blazewicz or a Coty representative were not immediately successful. 

Blazewicz began her law career in 2006 as a corporate associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in San Francisco and Los Angeles. In 2013, she went in-house as a corporate counsel for global beverage giant Keurig Dr. Pepper Inc. 

She was promoted in 2017 to senior counsel and assistant secretary and elevated a year later to vice president and assistant general counsel. In that role, she has been responsible for the company's Securities and Exchange Commission filings, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, executive compensation and subsidiary management matters, according to her LinkedIn profile. 

A graduate of the Duke University School of Law, Blazewicz has prior experience living and working abroad, first as an intern for the United Nations in Netherlands and, later, as a summer associate for King & Wood's office in Beijing.
