Netflix's head of legal operations has been named a new member of the board of directors at the San Jose, California-based Corporate Legal Operations Consortium.
"As a longtime CLOC member and leader of two regional groups, I strongly believe in CLOC's culture and focus on shifting the legal ops paradigm," Jennifer McCarron, director of legal operations at Netflix, said in a statement to Corporate Counsel. "I look forward to leveraging my legal ops technical experience to do my part in ensuring continued success for the company."
Mary O'Carroll, CLOC president and director of legal operations, technology and strategy at Google, said in the press release she is delighted to have McCarron join the board of directors.
"Jenn has been an active and enthusiastic CLOC member and supporter and we are thrilled that she has agreed to help take CLOC to the next level," O'Carroll said in the press release.
McCarron has held legal operations roles since 2008, according to her LinkedIn profile. She began in 2008 as the program manager of contracts and compliance at Tandberg and has held legal operations roles at Cisco Systems Inc. and Spotify. She became the top legal operations professional at Netflix in September 2018 and is based in Los Angeles.
McCarron replaces Brian Hupp, who was a founding board member at CLOC. Hupp is taking a sabbatical this year and will spend it traveling, according to the press release.
"Brian's dedication, passion and enthusiasm will be greatly missed by all of us at CLOC, though we know the friendships we have built will remain strong. We look forward to following the success of his career and where it next takes him," CLOC board member and vice president of legal operations at Oracle Corp., Christine Coats, said in the press release.
Along with Coats and O'Carroll, McCarron is joined on the board by Mike Haven, head of legal operations at Gap Inc.; Lisa Konie, senior director of legal operations at Adobe Systems Inc.; Jason Barnwell, assistant general counsel of legal business, operations and strategy at Microsoft Corp.; Jamal Stockton, head of legal innovation and digital enablement at Fidelity Investments Inc.; and Aine Lyons, vice president and deputy general counsel of worldwide legal operations and chief of staff at VMware Inc.
