As our Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference is right around the corner, there are two very important updates you need to know.

First, we are going virtual! We are planning a multi-day virtual program that will deliver the superior information and networking experience you have come to expect from our event. The virtual event will feature:

  • Complimentary registration for in-house counsel
  • Live keynote presentations and interactive panel sessions

  • Exclusive access to our acclaimed speaking faculty via group and one-to-one video discussions
  • Dedicated video networking time with our exhibitors, sponsors and fellow attendees
  • Access to a library of pre-recorded content

This multi-pronged approach captures the very essence of what our event is all about, face-to-face interactions and senior-level discussions with the most influential women in law representing today's top organizations. The virtual summit will offer more contentmore insights, and more opportunities to make the connections that matter to you.

Second, there is a change in the date of the event. The virtual conference will now be held on Oct. 26 – 30. For those of you that aren't familiar with the WIPL event, it offers an opportunity for unprecedented exchange with women in-house and outside counsel. This unique event was created with the assistance of an advisory board comprised of high ranking in-house counsel women from around the globe that all have extensive experience leading legal departments.

We will still have our two amazing keynote speakers, live! WIPL is known for having some of the most engaging and energizing keynote speakers attend to share their thoughts, experiences, war stories and tips on effective leadership. And this year is no exception. In fact, we are grateful to have two remarkable women come and inspire us.

On Oct. 27, you get to hear from the wonderful Tina Tchen, the President and CEO of the "Time's Up" Legal Defense Fund, former chief of staff to Michelle Obama and former executive director of the White House Council on Women and Girls. Tina will share her hope, ideas and strategies that inspire others to recognize the power of diverse teams and keep equality on the forefront of the global agenda. During her eight years at the White House, she lead the first-ever White House Summit on Working Families and the first-ever United State of Women Summit. A high-powered lawyer, Tina's career accomplishments have established her as a powerful advocate for gender equality. Tina co-founded the Time's Up Legal Defense Fund, which is administered by the National Women's Law Center, and has raised over $22 million to connect victims of workplace sexual harassment with lawyers.  A passionate champion for women's and children's issues, including women in positions of leadership, we are excited to have Tina share her unique perspective and insights on workplace culture, breaking through male-dominated industries, and ending campus sexual assault.

Then on Oct. 28, you will have the opportunity to hear from the amazing Paula Boggs. Paula served as executive vice president, general counsel and secretary, law and corporate affairs at Starbucks Corporation from 2002 to 2012. Her prior professional experience includes serving as vice president, legal, for products, operations and technology at Dell Computer Corporation, and as a partner at the law firm of Preston Gates & Ellis, LLP. She also had a 14-year career in public service, including as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and in various capacities as an attorney for the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense and the White House Office of Legal Counsel. She served eight years as a Regular Officer in the United States Army, earned Army Airborne wings and a Congressional appointment to the US Naval Academy – among America's first women to do so. Paula is also the founder of Boggs Media, LLC, a business that manages her music, speaking, and other creative business activities. We are so excited to have her to be a part of the conference to share her leadership lessons.
