Blockchain services firm Bison Trails has snagged former Goldman Sachs lawyer Elizabeth Ralston to serve as the New York-based startup’s first-ever general counsel

“The role of a general counsel at a company at this stage is to help the company accomplish its strategic business goals while minimizing various sources of risk along the way,” Ralston said. “Those sources of risk can come in a variety of forms, whether it be regulatory, contractual, reputation, financial. That’s how I think about my job every day.”
