Halimah DeLaine Prado, a longtime member of Google’s legal department, is taking over as general counsel for the tech giant, which has been dealing with employee protests over accusations of racial discrimination and sexual misconduct in the workplace. 

Prado began working at Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, California, in 2006. She most recently served as vice president of legal, overseeing the global products and agreements legal team, which gives product and commercial advice on Google’s various products, including YouTube.
