Study Shows Disconnect Between Corporate Speak and Action on Diversity
Nearly half of the executives in a new survey said their boards didn't have a specific time frame to implement their diversity goals, which is something that general counsels and chief legal officers could help to change.

Companies have been speaking out in droves about the importance of equality and inclusion, but a new survey of corporate executives, including in-house leaders, reveals a significant disconnect between what businesses are saying and what they're actually doing.
While corporate boards trumpet lofty diversity aspirations, too many have failed to set real deadlines to make those goals a reality. At the same time, these companies continue to shy away from effective board refreshment strategies, according to a report from the New York Stock Exchange and corporate governance company Diligent Corp.
