After a Texas federal judge’s ruling on motions to dismiss, Nokia is unable to fully escape a discrimination case brought by a former in-house attorney, who alleges that a younger, less experienced male attorney was given a management role over her.

Sharan Boudreau sued her former employer, Nokia of America Corp., in federal court in July 2019. Her third amended complaint against Nokia alleges age discrimination in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA); sex discrimination in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; retaliation in violation of Title VII and the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act (THCRA) gender-based pay discrimination in violation of the Equal Pay Act.
