Following Salesforce’s acquisition of Slack and its legal department leader moving into the chief financial officer role, Salesforce has elevated an in-house attorney to be its new general counsel.

In a LinkedIn post published Thursday, the University of California, Hastings College of Law congratulated Todd Machtmes, who graduated from the school in 1995, on becoming the next general counsel of Salesforce. A spokesperson for Salesforce confirmed Friday afternoon that Machtmes will assume the GC role effective Feb. 1.
