Shutterstock Inc. has tapped John Lapham, a former top lawyer for Rover.com and Getty Images Inc., to serve as general counsel for the New York-based provider of stock photographs, videos and music.

Lapham will oversee Shutterstock’s global legal strategy and risk management while serving as a strategic business and legal adviser to the company’s senior leadership team and board of directors. He is also expected to provide legal backing for Shutterstock’s “growth and business transformation,” the company announced Monday.
