Goldman Sachs’ former general counsel Karen Seymour earned a little over $9 million in total compensation in 2020, despite the pandemic, according to the company’s annual report released earlier this week.

Seymour left the company March 15. Her salary, $1.5 million, was the same in 2019 and 2020. Her roughly $9 million earnings was a slight increase from her total compensation in 2019, which landed at $8.34 million. The increase in her total compensation flowed largely from an increase in her yearly bonus, and an increased stock awards in 2020. Seymour was given a $3.4 million bonus in 2020, up by $400,000 in 2019, and received just over $4 million in stock awards in 2020, up by $354,676 from 2019.
