As California expands its privacy laws and there becomes more support for other states to pass privacy legislation, in-house counsel need to find a way to handle what is expected to be an increase in the number of data subject requests (DSRs).

In 2020, business-to-consumer companies received an average of 137 DSRs per million identities, according to The State of CCPA report published by software company DataGrail on Thursday.
