Even as top law firms say cloud-based e-discovery will be the industry standard by 2023, in-house legal departments have reported slow progress in implementing the same technology, a new survey has found.

Everlaw and Above the Law released the 2021 Ediscovery Cloud Adoption report Wednesday, which also found only 20% of in-house professionals predicted they’d transition to cloud-based e-discovery systems in the next six to 12 months. That’s a serious contrast with Am Law 100 firms, 66% of which say they’re ready to make the move within the next year.
