When Benjamin Moore & Co. finds its senior counsel, the new hire is going to walk into the shell of a gutted legal department and encounter some potentially tricky challenges. But the job also presents unique opportunities for the right candidate. 

The Montvale, New Jersey-based paint company dismissed its four-member legal department last fall and began outsourcing its legal work to independent contractors and Littler Mendelson. But now, Benjamin Moore is looking to hire a senior counsel who will advise the company’s leadership and oversee its contract attorneys, according to an Aug. 20 job listing.
