Microsoft President and Chief Legal Officer Brad Smith was promoted to vice chairman of the company on Tuesday.
Smith, who has been with the company almost 28 years and started as an associate general counsel in 1993, will continue to report to Satya Nadella, chairman and chief executive officer of Microsoft.
