The corporate legal department at Amgen Inc. recently saved the global biotech company an estimated $12 million in anticipated legal spend simply by resolving a single case through alternative dispute resolution, rather than handling the matter in court. 

That’s according to the Thousand Oaks, California-based company’s general counsel, Jonathan Graham, a proponent of ADR since the early days of his legal career, when he was a Big Law partner at Williams & Connolly
