Indiana University was planning to fire general counsel and vice president Jacqueline Simmons, who ultimately opted to retire amid a feud with a law professor fighting for information about the school’s search for a new president. 

Simmons’ separation agreement, which The Indiana Lawyer first obtained, revealed that IU had “elected to terminate [Simmons’] employment without cause” and she “elected to retire,” effective June 30.
