Nearly two of three surveyed fintech and e-commerce executives, including chief legal officers, say they’ve seen more data subject requests than usual over the past 12 months, according to a new study by privacy tech company Transcend.

Data subject access requests are the means by which individuals request an enterprise disclose what personal data it holds on them, and what its intended use is. Most executives polled in Transcend’s Emerging Privacy Trends for 2022 say they plan to increase funding, add staff or both to address personal data compliance.
