Ride-hailing giant Lyft has promoted Jeremy Bird to chief policy officer, succeeding former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx, who will remain with the company as a senior adviser.

Bird is in his third year at Lyft, most recently serving as vice president and deputy chief policy officer. Before that role, he was vice president of public engagement.
