The Coca-Cola Co.’s director of government relations, who also happens to be President Joe Biden’s niece, has split with the beverage giant to join General Motors as director of environment, sustainability and governance policy.

In her new role, Missy Owens will “continue her work in sustainability and lead policy efforts on ESG stewardship, coalition building and collaboration in partnership with General Motors’ expanding sustainability team,” GM said Wednesday in a statement.
