Ericsson has called up a new legal and compliance chief as the Swedish telecom company confronts new allegations that it ran afoul of an agreement with the Justice Department that resolved a foreign bribery probe. 

Scott Dresser is slated to take over as senior VP, chief legal officer and head of group function legal affairs and compliance on March 21 and will be based in the U.S. Ericsson has a North American headquarters in Plano, Texas. He will succeed Xavier Dedullen, who has served as Ericsson’s top lawyer and secretary to the board of directors since 2018.
