Legal is a business of relationships—perhaps none more central than that of client and attorney. Technologies such as spend management tools have helped to greatly enhance the collaboration between corporate legal teams and their outside counsel partners, adding new efficiencies to old workflows and streamlining the communication process.

Still, in order for technology to become a truly effective bridge between in-house and outside attorneys, corporate legal teams need to work hard to prepare their law firms for the changes that lie ahead in order to avoid stymying adoption rates or damaging key relationships. By selecting user-friendly technologies, communicating exhaustively about upcoming transformation projects and offering convenient, widely available training, in-house teams can help pave the way for smoother collaborations both now and in the future.
