Alphabet, the parent company of Google, paid legal chief J. Kent Walker $14.7 million in 2021, while Netflix paid legal boss David Hyman $10.2 million.

The two companies disclosed compensation for their most senior executives in proxy statements filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Friday.

Walker, who serves as Alphabet's president of global affairs and chief legal officer, saw his pay tumble from the $50.9 million he earned in 2020. That year's figure was driven up by a massive $50.2 million stock award.
