For the past few years, corporate legal departments have been trying to do more to look out for the mental health and well-being of their in-house lawyers. But what about the outside lawyers answering calls and emails at odd hours while toiling away at law firms on heaps of urgent matters for demanding clients?  

When the U.S. Bank’s legal department signed the American Bar Association’s well-being pledge in 2019, the bank, like most other pledge signatories, was focused on developing activities, programs and resources to support its in-house lawyers and other staffers.
