General counsel from large corporations, including Amazon and Comcast, have signed a letter asking Congress to approve President Joe Biden's request for at least $700 million in funding for the Legal Services Corp., a pro bono organization.

Other companies supporting the request were Ford, General Electric, Twitter and AT&T. In total, 161 GCs from large corporations signed the letter, which says LSC both promotes social justice and protects the economy by ensuring major legal issues don't weaken American workers.

"LSC is the only entity with the ability to ensure that legal assistance is available to people in every ZIP code," the letter reads. "This makes outcomes in courts across the entire country more fair and just."
