The United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation of 2018 (“Singapore Convention”) is a milestone in the promotion of mediation as an alternative dispute settlement method in international commerce.

The fact that the Singapore Convention has been signed by important countries, such as the world’s two largest economies (the United States and China), three of the largest and most dynamic Asian economies (Singapore, India and South Korea), Australia and several Middle Eastern and African countries, will help to promote mediation worldwide.
