Science Applications International Corp., a huge provider of engineering and IT services to the federal government, has appointed Hilary Hageman as executive vice president and general counsel.

Hageman succeeds Steven Mahon, who is retiring in September after serving as executive vice president and general counsel since 2015.

Hageman rejoins SAIC after serving three years as general counsel at the San Diego-based transportation and defense company Cubic Corp. Before that, she was SAIC's senior vice president and deputy general counsel. Previously, Hageman held senior legal roles at the Department of Defense.

The Reston, Virginia-based Fortune 500 technology company has about 26,000 employees and annual revenue of about $7.4 billion.
