Aledade, whose data analytics software helps independent doctors' offices transition to value-based models, has hired Phuong Phillips as chief legal officer.

Phillips joins Bethesda, Maryland-based Aledade with nearly two decades of legal experience in the technology, clean tech and entertainment industries. She most recently was chief legal officer for social video games developer Zynga, overseeing all legal affairs and government relations and leading Zynga's recent $12.7 billion acquisition by Take-Two.

"As a refugee who escaped Vietnam decades ago, it has always been important for me that my career aligns with my values of perseverance, dedication and supporting my community," Phillips said in a statement. "That's why I'm thrilled to join Aledade and support the company's mission to create the conditions necessary for more patients to have access to high-quality primary care."

Phillips previously served as associate general counsel for Tesla, where she led the company's domestic and international acquisition strategy. Before that, she worked at SolarCity as deputy general counsel.

She began her legal career as a transactional attorney at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati.

Phillips' hire comes on the heels of significant growth for Aledade.

Last month, the eight-year-old company announced a $123 million Series E funding round that valued the business as $3.1 billion. The company—which has raised a total of $429 million— recently increased its national footprint by adding new offices in New York, North Carolina and California.
