Software intelligence company Dynatrace, which monitors the activity of mobile and web application users to produce metrics in real time, has appointed Nicole Fitzpatrick as general counsel.

Fitzpatrick, who has more than two decades of legal experience, joins from cloud-computing company Akamai Technologies. There, she spent more than a decade in roles of increasing responsibility, most recently as chief ESG officer and deputy general counsel.

In her new role at the Waltham, Massachusetts-based Dynatrace, Fitzpatrick is responsible for all legal and regulatory affairs, and will lead the company's ESG program. 

"Cloud observability and security are essential for successful digital transformation and represent tremendous opportunities for the company and our customers," Fitzpatrick said in a statement.

She added that she will use her experience to help deliver "the vision of a world where software works perfectly."

Before Akamai, Fitzpatrick was a partner with New York-based Goodwin Procter, Washington, D.C.-based Wilmer Cutler Pickering.

Dynatrace operates in more than 70 countries. Its platform uses artificial intelligence and advanced automation to provide data and answers about application performance, the hybrid cloud infrastructure and user experience.
