Cloud computing company Flexential has hired a general counsel who already knows the business well.

Megan Fine served as legal chief for data center provider Peak 10 before the company acquired competitor ViaWest for $1.7 billion in 2017 to form Peak 10 + ViaWest, which rebranded itself Flexential the following year.

After the merger, she stayed on for four months as assistant general counsel before departing for outsourced-sales provider ServiceSource, where she started as assistant general counsel before rising to GC.

Now, with ServiceSource selling this month for $131 million, Fine is headed back to her former employer.

She replaces Benjamin Hadary, who has been Charlotte, North Carolina-based Flexential's acting general counsel since September 2021.

"Over the past five years, I've had the pleasure of admiring Flexential's success from afar and now, I am honored play an active role in the future achievements," Fine said in a statement.

She added that she will ensure the company's legal needs are "delivered on with passion and understanding."

Fine, who has 17 years of legal experience, spent six years earlier in her career at Lending Tree, where she became general counsel. From there, she jumped to Peak 10 in 2011.

Flexential CEO Chris Downie said Fine's knowledge and expertise help position the company "to keep pace with our customers' evolving demands and to reach our five-year goal of doubling in capacity."
