Corporate Counsel Advance: What does the journey to empowerment mean to you? Tony: For me, a journey to empowerment is a long and personal journey. I think the journey has to be tailored for the individual, and I feel that is the responsibility of leadership. As a leader, you have to understand at an individual level what makes someone feel empowered. Leadership have to take the time out and take the effort to understand what would empower the individual. To achieve this there are some common components including support and trust.
