Artificial intelligence and machine learning are picking up steam in the public consciousness, and that’s spurring greater interest from legislators and regulators, experts agreed at a Thursday panel hosted by the FiscalNote Executive Institute titled ”Ethical Use of AI and the Emerging Legal Landscape.”

“There isn’t really a week that goes by without some AI-related headline, and that has spurred regulators interested in that area as well,” said Anna Gressel, an associate in the data strategy and security practice group at Debevoise & Plimpton.
