The publicly traded hydrocarbon exploration company SM Energy has brought aboard James Lebeck as general counsel, a move that comes four years after he departed SM to serve as chief legal officer of the private oil-and-gas company Encino Energy.
Lebeck, who'd risen to deputy general counsel at SM during his earlier, eight-year run with the company, replaces David Copeland, who gave up the legal reins Dec. 31.
