In-house attorneys have been largely spared in the barrage of layoffs pummeling the tech industry. And while there are still jobs aplenty for those seeking reemployment, legal recruiters warn that the tide could be turning.

“We haven’t seen a lot of in-house lawyers desperately looking for jobs,” said Sean Burke, founding partner at legal recruiting firm Whistler Partners. However, he added, there’s been a marked increase in applications from law firm lawyers looking to go in-house, leading him to suspect that layoffs have mostly affected the other side.
