Chewy general counsel Susan Helfrick has decided to resign at age 56, a move Helfrick said paves the way for her and her husband, who is 65, to enjoy retirement together.

“My intent is that this will be a full retirement—I certainly will give it a try,” Helfrick said in response to an inquiry from Law.com. She said that she plans to spend a significant amount of time in retirement volunteering for animal rescue and shelter organizations.
