Akin Harrison is stepping down one month after the broadcast TV giant said its acquisition by Standard General was officially dead. The Federal Communications Commission never approved the deal, fearing it would be bad for consumers.

Tegna General Counsel Akin Harrison will depart the broadcast television giant on June 30, the company revealed in a securities filing on Friday.
Originally part of newspaper giant Gannett, Tysons Corner, Virginia-based Tegna became a stand-alone company in 2015. It is the largest owner of NBC-affiliated stations in the United States and has a total of 66 stations in 54 markets.
