Chad Perry has joined high-end hotel investment company RLJ Lodging Trust as executive vice president and general counsel.

Perry previously led the legal department at shopping mall giant Tanger Factory Outlet Centers for 12 years prior to his April departure, which the company reported in a January 8-k filing that cited a “new professional opportunity in Washington, D.C.” as the reason behind his resignation. His law career began at Ropes & Gray, where he was an associate for seven years before stints as senior counsel at Dell EMC and deputy general counsel at wealth management firm LPL Financial.
