Litigation against Amazon is on the rise, and experts say this surge in suits, and the kind of lawsuits being filed, is an omen of what's to come for tech companies.

More than 40 federal lawsuits were filed against the company in May, and monthly case counts have grown by 40% over the past 12 months, according to Law.com Radar. Amazon did not comment on the surge or on the wider yearlong trend, but firms such as Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, Perkins Coie and Littler Mendelson have taken up the defense for the company.
