The University of Texas at San Antonio, one of a small number of Hispanic-majority public universities in the country, has promoted Jason King to chief legal officer.

King, who also will be associate vice president of strategic risk management, has been with the University of Texas System, which encompasses nine universities and five health institutions, for 11 years, most recently as chief compliance and ethics officer. He succeeds Juan “Jay” Rosselló, who’d been legal chief for four years when he departed in June to become general counsel of the University of Maryland.
