The nearly-century-old Pittsburgh-based bedding manufacturer American Textile Co. has created its first in-house counsel role and hired Erin Ickes, an attorney with a broad range of experiences at Pennsylvania companies, to fill it.

American Textile might not be a household name, but it’s one of the largest bedding manufacturers in the world—making pillows, mattresses, mattress covers and other products sold at 40,000 stores across the U.S. and at least 14 countries. It manufacturers for a range of prominent brands, including Sealy and Tempur-Pedic, as well as for store labels.
