Regier, 64, is departing after serving as general counsel of four hospital systems over the last three decades. He’s been legal chief for VUMC since it financially separated from Vanderbilt University in 2016. He’ll be succeeded by Douglas Mefford, who’s been with VUMC since 2013 and currently serves as managing counsel in its office of legal affairs.
