Las Vegas Sands’ global general counsel, Zac Hudson, saw his 2023 compensation rocket to $12.0 million, a nearly fivefold increase from the $2.6 million he earned a year earlier, thanks to a huge stock option grant he received in December as part of a contract extension that keeps him on board through 2029.

On Friday, the Las Vegas-based operator of casinos, resorts and restaurants filed its proxy statement disclosing 2023 pay for top brass. In addition to the stock option grant, valued at $7.9 million, Hudson received salary of $1.1 million, $1.4 million in stock awards and $1.6 million in nonequity incentive plan compensation.
