"You get a lot of good training at the law firm but it's still not enough. It's necessary but not sufficient. The sufficient part is to see things from the business side—to tie your work in-house to exactly the product and services that the company is providing, because that will color how you deliver legal services," Adam Nguyen said.

Adam Nguyen said he is a problem solver who is "a little bit OCD by nature." So when he sees things that are wrong, or things that are inefficient, he has an urge to make it right.
"That natural inclination to make things more efficient, to find a better way of doing things, is who I am," he said. "And that goes back to when I was in school and starting out as a young lawyer. I wanted more free time to hang out with my friends. I wanted to go to the gym. I wanted to do the best work for clients, but I wanted to do it in the best way possible. I wasn't always just working harder."
