In my last article, I talked about why it is important for legal departments to find law firms that are Easy to Do Business With (#ETDBW)–and how to find those firms.

But what about the other side of the coin? Finding a law firm that lawyers actually like working for is also important, as this can impact a firm’s capacity for being easy to do business with. And for those in-house lawyers who may be exploring the idea of returning to private practice, identifying firms with high levels of attorney satisfaction is certainly relevant. The competition for laterals is ferocious, and the legal press is regularly filled with headlines about attorneys and entire practices moving between firms, a situation driven (at least in part) by many firms being less-than-ideal places to work.
