As Election Day nears, another government attorney has jumped to Big Law. This time Mark Seidman, former head of the Federal Trade Commission’s Mergers IV Division, has joined Weil, Gotshal & Manges as an antitrust partner in Washington, D.C.

Seidman had been at the FTC for nearly two decades, and stepped in the role of assistant director in the Mergers IV Division in June 2020, according to LinkedIn. In that role, he acted as the lead government enforcer for transactions in the grocery, retail, consumer products and health care services industries.
