Fresh off helping his last employer, Hemisphere Media Group, sell itself, closing the deal despite a torrent of controversy, Alex Tolston is joining TV station owner Tegna as chief legal officer as it faces its own set of challenges.
Tolston will be the third executive helming Tysons Corner, Virginia-based Tegna's legal department in the past two years. His predecessor, former Vox Media Chief Legal Officer Lauren Fisher, lasted just nine months, departing in September, a month after Tegna appointed outsider Michael Steib as CEO.
