Samrat "Sam" Khichi walked onto one of the most daunting legal landscapes one could imagine in January 2023.
Fresh off a five-year stint as legal chief of Becton, Dickinson & Co., a medical device company with $20 billion in sales, Khichi joined CVS Health as it was in the throes of one of the most ambitious transformations in U.S. business history. Once simply a retail pharmacy chain, the Woonsocket, Rhode Island-based company had turned itself into the world's second-largest health care business, with $358 billion in sales.
