A California company that provides performing movie animals for commercials, TV, and movies is suing retailer Target, alleging breach of contract involving Target's beloved "Bullseye" dog mascot.

Target had used English bull terriers supplied by Santa Clarita-based Worldwide Movie Animals for 22 years before the retailer abruptly ended the relationship last year without providing the six months of advance notice required under its contract, Worldwide alleges in a federal lawsuit filed Wednesday in the Central District of California. It says Target missed that cutoff by three days.
