The truism that law school doesn’t prepare you to be an in-house lawyer in tech is quickly changing. Veteran product attorneys are translating their years of experience in the trenches of Silicon Valley into practical lessons that will equip the next generation of in-house counsel with the skills to navigate the fast-paced world of tech.

“Part of it is coming into law school wanting to give information to students that I didn't necessarily see when I went to law school and had to figure out myself,” said adjunct UC Law San Francisco professor John Didday, who just wrapped his inaugural semester teaching “Product Counseling: Actionable Legal Advice for Tech Companies.”
