Hossein Nowbar, chief legal officer of Microsoft

Nowbar, an American immigrant born in Tehran, Iran, joined Microsoft way back in 1997, starting at the bottom of the legal department ladder. Twenty-six years later, in September 2023, the company promoted him from general counsel of corporate affairs to chief legal officer, the top legal post at the tech giant, the world's third-most-valuable company.
