The general counsel of Interpublic Group, the world's sixth-largest advertising agency, stands to receive an $11.8 million golden parachute if the company's $13.25 billion sale to Omnicom Group, the fourth-biggest agency, leads to his termination.

Andrew Bonzani would be entitled to the princely payment under the terms of Interpublic's change-in-control provisions. He and the company's three other senior executives are entitled to golden parachutes collectively totaling $82 million, the two New York City-based advertising giants said in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing Friday. CEO Philippe Krakowski would receive the biggest chunk—$48.6 million.
